During the holiday of "Succot," after Hoshana Raba, the Libyan Jews write the word ARAVA in Hebrew on the wall, on the right side of the entrance to the front door. They believe it will make their year better. Arava, in Hebrew, means willow, which is used ceremoniously during the morning prayer of Hoshana Raba and is used to write the word on the wall.
