NEW FROM THE COLLECTION INSTITUTE
We have obtained a very rare artifact, part of the manuscripts of Rabbi Yaakov Rakach, which were not known to exist, not even in the biography written by Ms. Gavriela D'Vitorio Rakach. The name of the book is "Yayin haRakach" (Rakach's wine). On the basis of what is written on the first page, it was written in 1852.
People knowledgeable in "maalek" and ancient Hebrew script of the Libyan Jews (combination of modern and "maalek" Hebrew script), who are interested in deciphering the manuscripts that are at the Center, please contact Franco Arbiv, Telephone 08-9453250.

DO YOU RECOGNIZE?
This picture, which was given to us by Victor Bubleil, from Bat-Yam, was photographed most likely between the years 1949 and 1950 in "Chela Lichbira" in Tripoli. In the center, on the pulpit among the kids, we see the father, David (Dudu Bubleil), who was the well-known "Dalal" (auctioneer). To the left of the ark, standing near the arch, is Rabbi Hamus Agiv. On the ark, a big Israeli flag is hung. It is possible to see a number of girls, with and without head coverings.
